Care, Maintenance and Medical Tax Info
PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION IMMEDIATELY AFTER INSTALL
Dear Purchaser,
Thanks for your purchase. The Kliktronic comes with:
a 1 year warranty from the manufacturer, Kliktronic of England, provided that the install was done properly and the entire original piece is returned in tact and there is no damage to the wiring harness from rubbing, cuts, etc. This warranty starts from the date of purchase, not the date of install.
HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR KLIKTRONIC:
1. After installation, and you are satisfied that it is working properly, please mark the actuator, where the aluminum collar is centered, perhaps with a magic marker, this marks the optimum throw of 1' up and 1' down.
If you push the buttons up or down and they do not put you into the next gear, most likely it is out of alignment and you will be able to realign it yourself. Do NOT keep pushing them.
Buy and carry a 5.5 metric allen wrench with you while riding. Insert the wrench into the opening of the aluminum collar and slightly loosen it. Slide the actuator solenoid only/16th. of an inch, and retighten. See if this corrects the problem. If not, loosen the collar again, and move it back to the original location. Then move it down 1/16th. of an inch and try it again.
If this does not correct the situation, you may want to check the Faultfinding Electrical Flow Chart and see if you can trace the problem using the chart provided, or return to the installer for service.
2. On the first of every month, wipe the actuator rod that connects to the shifter pedal, with a clean cloth.
3. Apply a thin coating of WD 40 spray to the shaft.
4. At the same time, check that the Klikronic is not loose anywhere. Generally the only time it moves slightly, is when you activate a shift but the mounting places need to be tight. If something is loose, please use a bit of a lock type coating to keep the screws tight, the nuts secured, and tight also.
If you regularly follow the above guidelines, you should have many years of pleasurable riding.
